# Creating a Webinar

> Create a webinar in Conversion and connect it to the session on your webinar platform.

## Create a webinar

**Prerequisites:** Webinars are enabled for your workspace, and you have permission to create assets.

1. Click **Webinars** in the sidebar, then click **New**. You can also create a webinar inside a [folder](/product-docs/folders/overview).
2. Enter a **title** (up to 80 characters).
3. Click **Create**.

Conversion opens the new webinar on its **Overview** tab.

## Connect it to your webinar platform

If the session is being hosted on Zoom, Sequel, or Goldcast, connect it now. Conversion fills in the date, time, duration, timezone, and host from the platform, and keeps them current if the session is rescheduled. Connecting is also what lets Conversion register your contacts and pull attendance when the session ends.

Go to the **Overview** tab and click **Connect** on the webinar platform card. See [Platform Sync](/product-docs/campaigns/webinars/platform-sync) for the full walkthrough.

<Tip>
  You don't need to fill in the session details before connecting. Whatever you enter is replaced by the platform's values, so create the webinar with any title and connect it right away.
</Tip>

## Enter the session details yourself

If you aren't using a connected platform, for example an in-person event or a session hosted somewhere Conversion doesn't integrate with, enter the details by hand.

On the **Overview** tab, click **Edit details** to set:

| Field           | Notes                                                                                                                  |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Title** | Up to 80 characters. Also used as the name if Conversion creates the Salesforce campaign for you. |
| **Description** | Optional. Shown on the Overview tab. |
| **Start time** | The date and time the session begins, read in the timezone you select below. |
| **Timezone** | The timezone the start time is expressed in. Changing it keeps the time you entered and adjusts the underlying moment. |
| **Duration**    | Length in minutes.                                                                                                     |
| **Host email** | The email address of the person presenting. |

The dialog shows a **Saves as** line under the start time so you can confirm the exact date and time before saving.

<Info>
  Start times always display in the webinar's own timezone, not the viewer's. A session scheduled for 10:00 AM Eastern reads as 10:00 AM EST for everyone in your workspace.
</Info>

<Warning>
  Once a webinar is connected to a platform, **Edit details** and **Rename** are no longer available. Change the session on the platform instead, then click **Re-sync** on the Overview tab.
</Warning>

## Organize and manage

The menu in the top right of a webinar lets you:

* **Add to folder** or **Move**, to place the webinar in your [folder hierarchy](/product-docs/folders/overview).
* **Remove from folder**, to move it back to the top level.
* **References**, to see which other assets point at this webinar.
* **Rename**, if the webinar isn't connected to a platform.
* **Delete**.

A webinar holds its own emails, forms, workflows, and files, and its own token values. See [Assets](/product-docs/campaigns/assets) and [Tokens](/product-docs/campaigns/tokens).

## Delete a webinar

1. Open the webinar and select **Delete** from the menu in the top right.
2. If the dialog says the webinar still has assets, move or delete them first. A webinar can't be deleted while it holds assets.
3. Type the webinar's title to confirm, then click **Confirm and delete**.

<Warning>
  Deleting a webinar can't be undone, and its members and their statuses go with it. The session on the webinar platform and the linked Salesforce campaign are not affected.
