# Access and Passwords

> Control who can open a published landing page: everyone, password holders, or workspace members only.

Access settings control who can open a published landing page. They apply to every URL the page is served from, and they take effect immediately, without publishing.

## Access options

| Option | Who can open the page |
| - | - |
| **Public** | Anyone with the link. This is the default for new pages. |
| **Password** | Visitors who enter the password, and signed-in workspace members with access to the page. |
| **Members only** | Only signed-in workspace members with access to the page. |

Duplicated pages start as members only.

## Requiring a password

You need the **Manager** role.

1. Open the page and go to **Settings → Access**.
2. Click **Set** next to **Password**, enter a password of at least 4 characters, and confirm it.
3. Turn on **Require a password**.

Visitors see a password prompt before the page. Workspace members can choose **Sign in with Conversion** instead. A visitor who enters the right password stays signed in to the page for 30 days.

To change the password, click **Update**. Visitors who already entered the old password need to enter the new one.

If **Require a password** is on but no password is set, the page is members only.

## Search engines

Password-protected and members-only pages are never indexed by search engines.
