# Publishing and Versions

> Publish landing page changes, view earlier versions, and restore them into your draft.

Every landing page has a **draft** and, once published, one or more **published versions**. You edit the draft. Visitors see the latest published version.

## Before you publish

* You need the **Manager** role.
* Add and verify at least one [URL](/product-docs/landing-pages/urls-and-domains). You can publish without one, but visitors can't reach the page until a URL is verified.

## Publishing

1. Click **Publish** in the top bar.
2. Review the summary. It shows which URLs the page publishes to and warns you if none are verified yet.
3. Confirm. Visitors see the new version straight away.

Each publish creates a new version (v1, v2, and so on). The **Publish** button is disabled when there are no changes to publish.

### What changes when

| Applies when you publish | Applies immediately |
| - | - |
| Content and design, theme, forms, search and social settings, custom code | URLs, access and password, archiving |

## Viewing versions

Open the version menu next to **Publish** to jump to the **Draft** or any published version. The live version is marked **Live**. Choose **All versions…** to open the version history, where you can:

* **Preview this version** to open it in a new tab.
* **Restore this version into your draft**.

When you view an older version in the builder, it's read-only. Click **Restore into draft** to copy it into your draft, or **Back to draft** to return.

<Note>
  Restoring a version doesn't publish it. Review the draft, then click **Publish** to make it live.
</Note>

## Taking a page offline

To stop serving a page, [archive it](/product-docs/landing-pages/overview#archiving-a-page). To stop serving it from one address only, [delete that URL](/product-docs/landing-pages/urls-and-domains#deleting-a-url).
