# Opportunity Record

> View and edit an opportunity's details, company information, and contact relationships.

When you click on an opportunity in the opportunities list, a sidebar opens from the right side of the screen. This is the **compact view** of the opportunity record. You can also expand it into a **full-screen view** for more space.

## Compact view

The compact view is a sidebar that opens on the right side of the opportunities list page when you click on an opportunity.

### Header

The top of the sidebar displays the opportunity's key identifying information:

* **Opportunity name**
* **Company name**

The header also includes the following actions:

* **View company** — Click this button to open the associated [company record](/product-docs/records/companies/overview).
* **Salesforce icon** — Click the button to open the opportunity record directly in Salesforce

### Overview tab

The Overview tab provides a summary of the opportunity's field values and related company information, organized into the following sections:

**Opportunity details**

Displays the opportunity's core deal information:

* Name
* Amount
* Stage (shown as a badge, e.g., "Discovery / Qualification")
* Close Date
* Probability
* Type
* Lead Source (shown as a badge, e.g., "Outbound")
* Owner

**Company details**

Displays information about the company the opportunity belongs to:

* Company Name
* Industry
* Website
* Number of Employees

### Details tab

The Details tab shows a complete breakdown of every field value on the opportunity, organized by field category.

The fields are organized into the following categories:

| Category                      | Description                                                                                                                                                              |
| :---------------------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Opportunity Details**       | Standard opportunity fields including Name, Close Date, Stage, Probability, Lead Source, Owner, Is Closed, Is Won, Forecast Category, Fiscal period, and Fiscal Quarter. |
| **Custom Opportunity Fields** | Custom fields you have created for the opportunity object in your workspace.                                                                                             |

You can:

* **Search fields**: Use the search bar at the top to find a specific field by name.
* **Toggle empty fields**: Click **Show empty fields** to control whether fields that have no value are displayed or hidden.

### Relationships tab

The Relationships tab shows the **Opportunity Contact Roles (OCRs)** for this opportunity. This signifies contacts that have been assigned to this deal.

Each row in the relationships table displays:

| Column      | Description                                                                               |
| :---------- | :---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Contact** | The name of the contact assigned to this opportunity.                                     |
| **Role**    | The contact's role on the opportunity (e.g., Decision Maker, Influencer, Economic Buyer). |
| **Primary** | Whether the contact is the primary contact for this opportunity.                          |

## Full-screen view

Click the **expand button** (double-arrow icon) in the top-right corner of the compact sidebar to open the opportunity in full-screen view.

The full-screen view provides the same information and functionality as the compact view, just with a more spacious layout for reviewing field values and contact relationships.

To navigate back to the opportunities list, click the **Opportunities** breadcrumb at the top of the page.

## Editing an opportunity

You can edit an opportunity directly from both the compact view and the full-screen view. Click on any field value to modify it inline. The field becomes editable, and your changes are saved when you click away or press Enter.
