# Connect Goldcast to Conversion

> Create a Goldcast token and connect the MCP server so Conversion AI chats and agents can work with your Goldcast organization.

Connect Goldcast through Conversion's hosted MCP wrapper to give AI chats and [agents](https://docs.conversion.ai/product-docs/conversion-ai/agents/overview.md) tools for events, webinars, members, and other Goldcast resources.

> [!NOTE]
>
> To sync registrations and attendance with a Conversion webinar, use the separate [Goldcast webinar integration](https://docs.conversion.ai/product-docs/campaigns/webinars/platform-sync/goldcast.md).

## Set up Goldcast

### Before you begin

* A Conversion **Administrator** account to add the server.
* Access to create tokens in your Goldcast organization. If Goldcast teams are enabled, you must be an organization admin; team admins cannot create tokens.
* API tokens enabled for your Goldcast plan and organization. If tokens are unavailable, contact Goldcast support to enable them.

### Step 1: Create an API token

1. Sign in to Goldcast Studio.
2. Click the menu icon (three lines) in the top left.
3. Select **Settings → Tokens**.
4. Click **Create New Token**.
5. Name the token, for example `Conversion Integration`.
6. Click **Generate Token**.
7. Copy the value right away and store it securely. Goldcast displays it only once.

See [Goldcast's token guide](https://help.goldcast.io/en_US/general-integrations/22931655725723-how-to-create-an-api-token-in-goldcast) for details.

### Step 2: Add the server in Conversion

In Conversion, go to **Settings → AI → Connections**. Under **MCP servers**, click **Add MCP server** (or **Add server** below an existing list). Fill in the fields below.

| Field | Value |
| - | - |
| **Name** | `Goldcast` |
| **Server URL** | `https://map.mcp.conversion.ai/goldcast/prod/mcp` |
| **Transport** | **Streamable HTTP** |
| **Authentication** | **API key / header (shared)** |
| **Header name** | `X-Goldcast-Api-Key` |
| **Header value** | Paste only the API token you copied from Goldcast |

Enter the raw token without a `Bearer` or `Token` prefix.

Click **Add server**. Workspace members and agents use the configured token without a separate **Connect** step.

## Test the connection

1. Open the server's **Tools** tab and confirm Goldcast tools are listed.
2. Start a Conversion AI chat and ask it to read your Goldcast organization name using an authenticated organization lookup, without making changes.
3. Approve the read-only tool call if prompted.
4. Compare the result with your Goldcast organization.

A tools list confirms discovery; a successful authenticated read confirms access. Public registration-page tools do not verify your credential. If your credential cannot read organization details, test another authenticated read it has permission to perform.

Review [tool approval settings](https://docs.conversion.ai/product-docs/workspace-settings/ai/connections.md#server-page-and-tools) before using tools that change Goldcast data.

## Troubleshooting

* **Not Found** or **Unreachable**: check that the server URL is `https://map.mcp.conversion.ai/goldcast/prod/mcp` and the transport is **Streamable HTTP**.
* Authentication errors: confirm the header name is `X-Goldcast-Api-Key` and the header value contains only your Goldcast API token, without a prefix or extra spaces.
* A tool fails after connecting: check the token's access to the requested resource and the error returned by Goldcast.

After correcting the settings, use **Refresh tools** on the server page. A tools list confirms discovery; a successful read-only call confirms access to Goldcast.
