Configure the default record type that Salesforce assigns when Conversion creates Lead, Contact, or Account records.

Prerequisites

  • Salesforce Permissions: System Administrator access
  • Integration User: The username of the Salesforce user that Conversion authenticates as

Configure the Default Record Type

Identify the integration user's profile

  1. Navigate to Setup type Users in the Quick Find box click Users
  2. Find the Salesforce user that Conversion authenticates as
  3. Note the Profile name assigned to that user (e.g., “Minimum Access - API Only Integrations”)

Open the profile's record type settings

  1. Navigate to Setup type Profiles in the Quick Find box click Profiles
  2. Click the name of the profile identified in the previous step
  3. Scroll to the Record Type Settings section
  4. Find the object you want to configure (e.g., Lead, Contact, or Account)
  5. Click Edit next to that object

Configure the record type

You will see two sections on the edit page:Selected Record TypesThis controls which record types the integration user has access to. Use the Add/Remove buttons to move record types between the “Available Record Types” and “Selected Record Types” lists. Make sure the record type you want as the default is in the “Selected Record Types” list.Default Record TypeAt the bottom of the page, use the Default dropdown to select the record type that should be assigned when Conversion creates new records.

Save

Click Save at the top of the page. New records created by Conversion will now use the selected default record type.
If Conversion creates records on multiple objects (e.g., Leads, Contacts, and Accounts), repeat the steps above for each object.
If you have any automation (Flows, triggers, or workflow rules) on the object that modifies the record type after creation, those will override the profile default.
