Skip to main contentUpdate audience lets you programmatically manage which audiences a contact belongs to as they move through a workflow. This makes it easy to control segmentation dynamically, ensuring contacts are always in the right lists for targeting, suppression, or routing.
There are two available audience actions:
Add to
- Adds the contact to the selected audience.
- If the contact is already a member of that audience, nothing changes — they will not be duplicated or re-added.
- Example: when a lead becomes a customer, you can automatically add them to a “Customers” audience for future retention campaigns.
Remove from
- Removes the contact from the selected audience.
- If the contact is not currently a member of that audience, nothing changes — the action simply skips.
- Example: when a trial ends, you can automatically remove contacts from a “Free Trial” audience so they no longer receive onboarding emails.
Example Use Cases
- When
Opportunity Stage = Closed Won , add contact to “Customer” audience to start recieivng educational, upsell, informational nurture
- If
Account Tier = Enterprise , add contact to “Enterprise Re-Targeting” audience for upsell
- If
Status = Disqualified , remove contact from all nurture sequences
