Connecting a webinar to Zoom, Sequel, or Goldcast is what turns it into a running program. The platform owns the session details, Conversion registers your contacts on it, and attendance comes back automatically when the session ends.

Supported platforms

All three support registration and attendance. Zoom and Goldcast additionally provide a registration page URL, so View registration page appears on the Overview tab for their webinars.

Connect Sequel

Prerequisites: You are a workspace Administrator, and you have your Sequel client ID, client secret, and company ID.
  1. Open workspace Settings and go to the Integrations tab.
  2. Find Sequel and click Connect.
  3. Enter your Client ID, Client secret, and Company ID.
  4. Click Connect.
Conversion checks the credentials before saving them. If they’re rejected, confirm the values in Sequel and try again. Use Update connection on the card’s menu to rotate credentials, or Disconnect to remove the integration.

Connect Goldcast

Prerequisites: You are a workspace Administrator, and you have an API token from your Goldcast account.
  1. Open workspace Settings and go to the Integrations tab.
  2. Find Goldcast and click Connect.
  3. Choose the Region your Goldcast account is hosted in — United States or European Union.
  4. Enter your API token and click Connect.
Conversion validates the token against Goldcast before saving it. If the connection fails, check the token and make sure the region matches your Goldcast account — a token from the other region is rejected as invalid. Once connected, the card shows your Goldcast organization name. Use Update connection to rotate the token, or Disconnect to remove the integration.
Goldcast registration runs through the event’s registration form, so only events that have one can accept registrations from Conversion. Add a registration form to the event in Goldcast before connecting it to a webinar.

Connect a webinar to a session

Prerequisites:
  • A webinar platform is connected to your workspace.
  • The session exists on the platform and isn’t already connected to another Conversion webinar.
Steps:
  1. Open the webinar and go to the Overview tab.
  2. In the Integrations section, click Connect on the webinar platform card.
  3. Select the session and click Confirm and sync.
Conversion pulls in the session’s title, date and time, duration, timezone, and host (when the platform provides one), and keeps them up to date from then on. Because the platform owns these details, Edit details and Rename are no longer available in Conversion. To refresh the details immediately, for example right after rescheduling the session, click Re-sync on the platform card.
A platform connection can’t be changed or removed. Each session can be connected to one Conversion webinar and vice versa. To start over, delete the webinar and create a new one.

Registration

Once the webinar is connected, registrations flow in both directions. From Conversion. Moving a member to Registered registers them on the platform. Do this by hand on the Members tab, or automatically with the Update Campaign Member node so your registration form or invitation email drives it. From the platform. Anyone who signs up on the platform’s own registration page is matched to a contact by email address and set to Registered. If no matching contact exists, Conversion creates one. Registrations awaiting manual approval stay pending until a host approves them, and denials set the member to Registration Error. Either way, Conversion stores the person’s personal join link on their membership as a member field, along with when they registered. Use it to send your own confirmation and reminder emails instead of relying on the platform’s:
See Webinar member fields for the full list.
Goldcast timing works a little differently. Registrations are confirmed asynchronously, so a member you register from Conversion takes a few minutes to reach Registered, and their join link can appear a few minutes after that. Registrations made on the Goldcast registration page are imported by a daily sync rather than in real time. That daily sync also fills in any join links Goldcast published late, so a member never stays without one for more than a day.

Attendance

After the session ends, Conversion pulls the attendance report and updates everyone:
  • People who joined the live session are marked Attended, along with when they joined, when they left, and how long they stayed.
  • People who registered but never joined are marked No Show.
  • People who watch a replay are marked Attended On-Demand.
Platforms finalize their attendance report after the session ends, so allow a short delay before the numbers appear — a few minutes for Zoom and Sequel, and around an hour for Goldcast, which settles no-shows more slowly. Not every platform reports the same level of detail: Goldcast reports when each attendee joined, but not when they left or how long they stayed.
Connect the webinar before the session ends. Attendance isn’t backfilled for a webinar connected afterwards.
