Workflow emails are sent automatically when referenced inside a Workflow. They fire based on a trigger or a schedule. Emails in Conversion are sent to recipients, not contacts directly. Recipients are deduplicated by email address and carry a subscription status that determines whether they can receive marketing emails. This is central to staying compliant with regulations like GDPR. See Recipients for more.
