A field event is a campaign for one event you host or attend in the real world, such as a conference, a tradeshow booth, or a customer dinner. It holds the invitation email, the follow-up workflow, the event’s details, and the record of who registered and who showed up. Connect the field event to Cvent, Luma, or Splash and Conversion keeps the event details current and brings registrations and check-ins in for you. Connect it to Salesforce and all of it reaches your CRM. The two connections are made separately and work independently.

What you can do

  • Bring registrations in from your event platform. Anyone who registers on Cvent, Luma, or Splash becomes a member in Conversion, matched to their contact record by email. People new to you get a contact created.
  • Track attendance from check-ins. When someone is checked in at the door, they move to your attended status. After the event, everyone who registered but never checked in is marked as a no-show.
  • Use your own statuses. Field event types are yours to define. Add a Visited Booth or VIP status, rename anything, and tell Conversion which of your statuses mean registered, waitlisted, attended, and no-show so the platform sync lands on the right ones.
  • Keep Salesforce current. Members and their statuses sync both ways with a Salesforce campaign.

How field events differ from webinars

Members, assets, tokens, and Salesforce sync all work as described in the shared campaign documentation. Compared with webinars:
  • The statuses are yours. A webinar’s six statuses are fixed. A field event uses a field event type you can edit, with a small set of meanings mapped onto your statuses so integrations know where to write.
  • Registration flows one way. Conversion reads registrations from your event platform. It does not register people onto Cvent, Luma, or Splash. Use the platform’s own registration page or forms for that.
  • Attendance is a check-in, not a session. There is no join time or duration. Someone is attended when the platform records them as checked in.
