Some actions in Conversion touch too many records to finish instantly, so they run in the background while you keep working. The Background actions settings page is where you follow their progress, review the outcome, and cancel one that’s still running.

What runs in the background

  • Duplicating an audience.
  • Duplicating a campaign, webinar, field event, or folder, along with everything inside it.
  • Refreshing a dynamic audience against its criteria.
  • Backfilling Salesforce fields with values from Salesforce.

Reading the list

Actions are grouped into Pending actions (queued or running) and Completed actions. The list refreshes itself every few seconds while anything is running, and you can click Refresh at any time. Each row shows the type of item, the action’s title (for example Duplicate Q3 Webinar), and: Click View to open the action.

Action details

The detail page repeats the status and progress, then explains the outcome in plain language, for example All 1,240 steps processed successfully or This action was cancelled before completing. 300 steps were never processed. Buttons at the top link to the items involved:
  • View source audience, View source campaign, and similar open the item the action started from. For a dynamic audience refresh, View audience opens the audience that was refreshed.
  • View new audience, View new folder, and similar open the copy a duplication created.
If an item has been renamed since, the button tells you its current name. If it has been deleted, the button is disabled.

Cancelling an action

While an action is Pending or In progress, click Cancel action and confirm. Remaining work will not be processed, completed work will not be reverted, and the cancellation cannot be undone.
