Tokens are reusable values that you set on a folder or campaign and reference in any asset inside it. They help you keep content consistent without manually updating the same value in multiple places. Example: You create a token called event_date. Inside a webinar, you set its value to April 15, 2026. Every email, form, and workflow in that webinar that references event_date will automatically display April 15, 2026. Reference a token in any asset:

How tokens work

Tokens follow a two-level structure:
  1. Define the token globally: an admin creates a token (label, key, and type) in Settings → Tokens. This makes the token available everywhere in the workspace.
  2. Set a value where you need it: on a folder, custom campaign, webinar, or field event, you select a token and assign a value. That value is used wherever the token is referenced in the assets inside it, including assets in nested folders.

Where a value comes from

An asset uses the value from the nearest folder or campaign above it that sets the token. If none of them do, the asset uses the token’s workspace value. Without a workspace value, the token has no value for that asset. This lets you set a value once for the whole workspace, then override it for a specific folder or campaign.

Set a value for the whole workspace

  1. Click Workspace in the sidebar.
  2. Select the Tokens tab.
  3. Add or update the token’s value as described below.

Adding a token value

  1. Open the folder or campaign’s Tokens tab.
  2. Click Add token value.
  3. Select a token and enter its value.
  4. Click Add.

Updating a token value

  1. Select the token’s row on the Tokens tab.
  2. Click Update token value.
  3. Enter the new value.
  4. Click Confirm and update.
The updated value is reflected wherever the token is referenced in the assets inside.

Removing a token value

  1. Select the token’s row on the Tokens tab.
  2. Click Remove token value.
  3. Click Confirm and remove.
Assets inside then use the value from the nearest folder or campaign above, or the workspace value. If none of them sets the token, references to it no longer have a value. Values can always be added again later.

Tokens compared to member fields

Both fill in values in an asset’s content, but they hold different kinds of value. See Members for member fields, and Liquid Overview for the full reference on both.
