The Objects settings page lists the record types in your workspace and lets you manage each one’s appearance, fields, and Salesforce sync. Every member can open it.

Default objects

Conversion creates these objects automatically and syncs them with Salesforce depending on your syncing settings: Click View next to an object to open it.
Campaign members don’t appear in this list. Manage their fields from the Member fields tab of the Campaigns settings page.

Custom objects

Custom objects let you model data specific to your business, such as products, subscriptions, or projects, and connect that data to your contacts.
Custom objects are not enabled for every workspace. If you don’t see the Custom objects section, contact Conversion.

Creating a custom object

Click Add custom object and fill in: Click Create. Conversion opens the new object’s settings page. Custom objects are listed alphabetically by plural label; click Manage to open one.
The Salesforce object a custom object syncs with can only be chosen when you create it.

Object settings

Opening an object shows its name, a View records button, and two tabs: Overview and Fields.

Overview tab

Appearance controls how the object shows up across Conversion. For default objects it is read-only: the icon, labels, and primary field (Email for contacts, Company name for companies, Name for opportunities) can’t be changed. For custom objects you can change:
  • Icon and color, chosen from the picker.
  • Plural label and Label.
  • Primary field: the field used as the record’s name wherever it appears, for example in relationship cells. Relationship fields can’t be the primary field. When no primary field is set, records are named by their ID.
Changes save automatically. Sync shows which Salesforce objects the object syncs with. For default objects this follows your syncing settings; click View sync settings to change them. For a synced custom object it shows the linked Salesforce object, with a View in Salesforce button that opens it in Salesforce Setup.

Fields tab

The Fields tab is where you create fields, edit their labels and sync settings, map them to Salesforce fields, and delete custom fields. See Fields.

Deleting a custom object

Open the object’s options menu and choose Delete. A custom object can’t be deleted until all of its records and every reference to it (in audiences, workflows, forms, or emails) have been removed. The dialog shows both counts; click a count to review the items. Type the object’s label to confirm.
Deleting a custom object cannot be undone.
