The Assign Owner node sets the owner on a contact record. Use it to route contacts to the right team member based on workflow logic — for example, assigning a sales rep after a lead qualifies or routing support contacts to the appropriate account manager.

Configuration

OwnerSelect the team member to assign as the contact’s owner.

Behavior

  • The node executes once per contact as they pass through.
  • The contact’s owner is updated before the contact advances to the next node.
  • If the contact already has the selected owner, no change is made.

Use cases

  • Lead assignment — assign a sales rep to qualified leads after they pass through a scoring or enrichment workflow
  • Account routing — assign contacts to account managers based on region or plan type after a Field Branch
  • Handoff workflows — reassign ownership when a contact transitions between lifecycle stages (e.g., from SDR to AE)
